Located between Australia and Indonesia, East Timor was invaded in 1975 by Indonesia and occupied for 25 horrific years. Buying Timor coffee supports the fragile economy of these newly independent people. The sale of this coffee directly supports Cooperativa Cafe Timor the organic growing association and its farmers. They have recently invested in new coffee drying facilities and wet-processing equipment, resulting in vastly improved coffee quality.
This is an unusually viscous, uncharacteristically bright Indonesian coffee. This cup has a clean snap to it with mild floral hints without the earthy, musky, nutty qualities that have come to typify coffees from Sumatra and Sulawesi. You’ll taste the velvety body and a syrupy sweetness in the cup. This is an extremely satisfying rich and full-bodied coffee.
